Hello readers, Andrew here! To help you get to know us a little bit better here at TwoTicketsFor we decided to put together our respective Top Ten Favorite Films of All-Time to share with you.
On this page you will find my personal top ten list. To explain just a little bit better, this is NOT the ten films I think are the best of all-time. They are the ten films that if I were stuck on a deserted island for the rest of my life, I could watch over and over again without ever getting sick of. Likewise, they're the ten films that if I stumble across while flipping through the channels on the TV I absolutely have to stop and watch. With that said, here are my top ten favorite films of all-time, in no particular order:
Warrior - Yes it's the newest of the bunch, but this film could be this generation's Brian's Song or Rocky once it gathers a following on DVD/Blu-Ray. Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte are all top-notch, as is the mixed-martial arts action.
The Dark Knight - Unless this summer's The Dark Knight Rises tops it (and based on the trailer and prologue we've seen, it very well could) this is the best superhero film of all-time. One of Christopher Nolan's two modern masterpieces.
John Carpenter's Halloween - My absolute favorite horror movie. It's perfect in every way.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - The first and the best of the Pirates franchise, this has Johnny Depp at his best. Just a fun movie.
Dumb & Dumber - Hands-down my favorite comedy of all-time. The writing is actually quite smart to make the characters sound so dumb ("Flo, what's the soup de jour?" "It's the soup of the day." "Mmm, that sounds good. I think I'll have that.") and the performances by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are classic.
Jurassic Park - As a kid this movie made me want to be a paleontologist. The magic of this movie will never die. A mixture of Steven Spielberg at his most magical and scariest.
Casino Royale - The James Bond franchise is one my favorites, I've seen the all multiple times, and I don't hesitate to say Daniel Craig's first turn as 007 is the best in the franchise, followed closely behind by Goldfinger, Thunderball and GoldenEye.
The Incredibles - My favorite animated movie of all-time, this is the best Pixar film (imo) because of it's mixture of animation, storyline, characters, voice-acting, heart and the Bond-esque music.
Inception - The second of Nolan's two modern masterpieces. An epic, original action film that really makes you think. Even though I know how they filmed it, I will always be amazed with the zero-gravity hallway sequence.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy - As a broadcasting student in college, this was THE funniest film, and it still holds up upon repeated viewings with the wife. Incredibly quotable, and the performances by Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Fred Willard and David Koechner are all hilarious in their own right.
Honorable Mentions (more films I could watch over and over again but that missed out on the Top Ten): David Fincher's Se7en, Fight Club and The Social Network; Steven Speilberg's Saving Private Ryan, Jaws, Minority Report; Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds; Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, The Shawshank Redemption, J.J. Abrams' Star Trek.
